Matagorda Co. Constable pct. 3

The precinct 3  Matagorda County Constables office is located in Palacios Texas, which is approximately 90 miles southwest of Houston, on state highway 35. Precinct 3 encompases a large amount of rural area , as well as including some of the city of Bay City. It borders Calhoun and Jackson counties to the west, and includes some of Matagorda County's largest industrial areas to include the South Texas Nuclear Power Plant, the Palacios turning basin complex and several other large businesses. It also includes within it's boundries several square miles of waterways. The precinct extends several miles out into Matagorda Bay starting near precinct 2 at Matagorda Beach, and extends along the coast to the Calhoun county line.The Constables office is actively involved in traffic enforcement, neighborhood patrols, warrant and civil process serving, and works closely with other local and state law enforcement agencies that serve the county and it's residents.

Constable Ken Smith

Constable Kenneth V. Smith;

Constable Kenneth V. Smith began his law- enforcement career with the Palacios Police Dept. reserves in the early 1980's. He not only served as Captain of that reserve force, but was also instrumental in it's formation and organization that is still in place today. He went on to serve under Constable Adam " Bubba" Price as deputy Constable, and was elected to Constable Price's position after he retired in 1993. Constable Smith holds an advanced peace officer's license from TCLEOSE, and has achieved numerous other training accomplishments to follow.
